Youghal Clockgate Tower

Built as a gaol in 1777 the Clockgate Tower is now open for visitors to enjoy a story rich guided tour.
The tour is suitable for all ages, specially school children, its story is very unique and fascinating, the guides will bring you back in time and tell you all about the tower and the characters associated with this distinctive building.
You'll be allowed access to the rooftop of the Clockgate Tower during the tour, which will give you a gorgeous panoramic view of the town and harbour. It's weather dependant though, so program your visit.
The tour can be booked on the Clockgate webiste. They happen from Friday to Sunday from 12noon to 4pm and last about 1 hour, but it's recommended to be there 5 minutes before the tour time. They do group tour for 10+ people, although for groups larger than 20 people it's recommended to contact the booking office first. They also have special prices for families, students, and senior visitors.
